On Feb. 8, 2016, at 8:18 p.m., Neptune Township Police Department responded to 1306 7th Avenue, Neptune Township for a report of a shooting.

Officers found Andre Thorne, 19, of Bradley Beach, in the driver’s seat of a 2002 red Dodge Neon suffering from a single gunshot wound to the chest. Thorne was rushed to Jersey Shore University Medical Center where he would later be pronounced dead.

Thorne was sitting in the car with two others at the time of the shooting.

Monmouth County Prosecutor Raymond S. Santiago said, “Despite the passage of over seven years since the murder of Andre Thorne, detectives from my Office and the Neptune Police Department refuse to let the case grow cold. It is our sincere hope that those efforts motivate individuals in our community to come forward with any information that they may possess.”

If anyone has any information they are asked to contact Monmouth County Prosecutor’s Office Detective Sergeant Keith Finkelstein (732) 431-7160, ext. 3019 or Neptune Township Detective Carrie Bartlett (732) 988-8000.
